- Water is essential for everyone. We use water every day for drinking, cooking, cleaning, growing food, and so much more. People, plants, and animals all depend on clean water to live.
- Our drinking water comes from lakes. Water is cleaned at a treatment plant before it travels through pipes and water towers to our homes and schools, making it safe to drink and use every day.
- Help protect our water from pollution. Always throw trash in a trash can, pick up after pets, and keep litter out of storm drains because they lead to creeks, rivers, and lakes that supply our drinking water.
- Do your part, be water smart! Save water by turning off the faucet while brushing your teeth or washing your hands, using water only when it's needed, and choosing water-wise plants. Every small action helps protect this valuable resource.
