About

The National Theatre for Children (NTC) is an award-winning educational content provider whose methods include theatrical all-school assemblies, print and digital curriculum, professional development, extracurricular events and volunteers-in-the-schools. NTC has developed the art of teaching through educational story-telling into a science of its own, and is an international company with operations in the United States, Australia and New Zealand.

We believe in the power of live educational theatre. Why? Since 1978, The National Theatre for Children has delivered free programs into schools across the country in order to teach, entertain and inspire future generations to make our world an even better place — and it has worked. Since our first tour, more than 30 million children have attended our shows. Over the years, we have expanded our offerings to include not only live performances but other features such as digital games and activities, educational graphic novels, workbooks and teacher guides, as well as specialized classroom visits. Each program is customized to be the perfect fit for the message of the program’s sponsor, whether the topic is conservation, STEM, digital citizenship, health and fitness, financial literacy, or whichever subject is timely, valuable and meaningful.

Use NTCplayworks.com to find educational resources, games and activities, photos and videos to enhance the NTC program delivered to your school.
