Thank you for taking the time to educate your students about energy efficiency. As we all know, times are uncertain in the world right now. NTC was able to visit some schools this year, but other schools had their scheduled performances postponed due to the ongoing health crisis.
We have created this digital package of educational materials for distance learning. Accessing the materials is easy and they integrate seamlessly with national and regional educational standards, as well as classroom curricula. And even though we couldn’t engage every student face-to-face, we still want Duke Energy’s customers (and teachers) to get a free energy efficiency kit, as well as a chance to win some money. We are happy to continue running this program and hope that the free kits can be a helpful resource.

My Energy Kit Challenge
The My Energy Kit Challenge has a goal to save 10 million kilowatt-hours of energy during the 2019-20 school year. To reach this goal, staff and families at participating schools can request a FREE Energy Kit to save energy in their homes. Every unique request for the FREE Energy Kit helps your school win cash rewards ranging from $250-$2,500, and gives each family a chance to win $1,000. And YES, this program is still going!

- How to measure energy use
- How energy is wasted
- What renewable resources are
- How to conserve energy
The concepts are broken up into simple, easy-to-understand sections. Not only will this video give your students important background information on the science of energy and electricity, it will also let them know how we can all form positive habits and behaviors in order to become better environmental stewards.
