NSW Ports and The National Theatre for Children invite you to use these e-learning resources to guide and educate your students about important HSIE and STEM education around goods, trade, the supply chain, sustainability and STEM.

These digital materials and resources are designed to get your students inspired and motivated to better understand Australia’s system of trade and the key function that ports play in the supply chain.

The Marine Team Livestream Event available for students learning both at-school or at-home, the accompanying Student Workbook, digital games, teacher toolkit and extended activities, are designed to be an easy, accessible and engaging way to provide this important curriculum. Teachers are a vital part of The Marine Team program because your insight and guidance is invaluable in supporting your students.

Educational Standards

PROGRAM OVERVIEW  

Our livestream education events offer teachers a convenient, online-accessible option for experiencing educational theatre.
This 35-minute show presents a livestream lesson in HSIE and STEM for grades 1-6. Through an interactive web platform, a live host will introduce entertaining and educational episodes featuring a variety of characters in professionally filmed scenes from our educational theatrical productions.

The episodes and your Actor/Educator host will focus on the following educational points:

  • What are goods and trade?
  • Why are ports important?
  • How we get the goods we need
  • How we receive our goods sustainably

Whether watching in the classroom or at home, your students will experience important lessons about goods and trade, the supply chain, Port Botany as a key link to our commodities, and the science and technology powering the ports and trade system.

Follow-up, formative assessments for you to gauge the learning of your students are especially important with e-learning. Below are some suggestions for how you can assess your students’ performance quickly and effectively.
